Same thing. Purchased LG Tribute Dynasty this month at Meijer as a Christmas gift. When we tried to do a phone swap today to activate the phone it was not recognized and it did say Boost Mobile at the top of the screen after we turned it on.
I called customer support and at first they said the phone wouldn't activate because it was reported stolen. I asked how is that possible, I just bought the phone and it is new in a sealed box. He did some more checking and said the phone had not been activated at the store (hence it appears to be a stolen phone). He said I need to take it back and have them scan it at the store I bought it from.
We shall see. I will post the results once we have done that.
** UPDATE **
After taking the phone back and getting scanned at the store we were able to activate without further problems.
