Code 97?

Has anyone ever come across this code? I can't seem to find any info on it.

I was sending a Text on my Samsung J7, and it didn't go through and an error popped up saying something along the lines of "Account Error: Message not sent: Code 97."

Hey whats going on @Robthewild1? I can help you with that error message that you received. Quick question, you wouldn't happen to be connected to a Sprint Airave device would you? This is a common message received if so. If not, if you have recently swapped devices, this could be the cause as well. Try powering off your phone and removing the battery for one minute. If you are connected to an Airave device, hold the reset button down on that device for at least 10 seconds. Performing these steps should fix the problem. If not, please send me a reply and Ill be glad to help you get to the bottom of the issue. Hope this helps!

Hello @Robthewild1. Error 97 may occur when sending text messages due to following reasons:

  • SMS restrictions
  • Specific sender blocked
  • Addressed incorrectly entered by sender
  • Network outage
  • Product known issue
  • Device known issue
  • Error during activation

Does it happen when you try to send the text message to an specific number? How long has this been happening? Is it everywhere you go, or in one location?  Please, send us a private message with your phone number, PIN, your nearest cross streets, and ZIP code, then we can check your area for any outages or upgrades to the cell tower.
