ERROR CODE 65536

One week ago my phone updated itself, and now Messages returns ERROR CODE 65536 when I send a text, but only to a few people. The Info icon says that the text was sent but lists the error code below that. The texts are not being received by the recipients. 
This seems to be a problem with the app. Is there a fix? An iPhone is looking better and better. 
App is Messages v2.2.076

Good luck same issue, haven't found a fix yet. I've asked on Reddit android problems
