Switched to a new phone and now the data and internet will not work on it.

My new phone will make calls and text, but none of the data or internet will work.  Reactived it many times and called customer support many times and they were no help. Keep trying to tell me data is down in my area. I switched back to the old phone and the data and internet worked fine. Switched back over to the new phone and the same thing keeps happening.
