Virgin Mobile strives to ensure that 911 calls are minimally impacted while your number is being transferred. However, while 911 calls can be made during the process — subject to the typical limitations of any wireless 911 call — the public safety dispatch center may not receive an accurate telephone number from your phone, should they need to call you back. Therefore, if you need to make an emergency call while your number is in the process of being transferred, immediately inform the emergency operator of your exact location and your emergency.
We suggest that you wait to set up your voicemail mailbox until after your service is fully transferred. If you set up your voicemail mailbox prior to this, all messages and settings (including your greeting and password) will be lost when the number you have transferred becomes active.
To expedite the transfer, we will need the following customer information:
Account number from your old provider
Last 4 digits of your Social Security Number (SSN) or Tax ID
Billing name and address on existing service provider account
Account password from your existing provider (if applicable)
No. Your number is only portable if it is active on your existing service provider's network. Once your number has been approved for transfer, your number and account will automatically be deactivated with the your existing service provider.

After you enroll, your Phone Insurance subscription will be effective on your next monthly payment date. Your device must be fully operational and have no physical damage at the time of enrollment to be eligible for coverage.
Your monthly Phone Insurance premium is $7.
Your nonrefundable deductible will be $20, $50, $100 or $175 depending on your phone.
You are eligible for 2 approved claims within a 12-month period beginning on the date of the first replacement. There is a per claim limit of a maximum of $1,500 inclusive of accessories.
Your replacement phone will be a reconditioned one of like kind and quality. In the event a reconditioned phone is not available, the replacement will be a new phone of like type and quality.
Phone Insurance is optional and is not required to purchase the phone or to activate wireless services.
