Need help activating and swapping phones because website isn't working

My iPhone just stopped working out of the blue, like literally I was texting and it went dead seconds later. I bought a new phone to use from the Virgin store but I cannot activate it using the phone or the website. I need to get this phone activated so I can make some calls. HELP!!
