That's correct, arm45! We do not support unlocked devices as there's no BYOD program available for Assurance. If you're purchasing a phone for your ASW account, it needs to be supported and compatible. We'll be glad to answer any questions you may have.

On Aug. 11 2017 Assurance Wireless activated a phone I purchased on eBay. The confirming message from Assurance Wireless in part reads:
> Thank you for contacting us regarding your new phone, we are happy to > assist. > > We have successfully placed the new phone on your account with the > serial number that you provided, you do not need a SIM card to keep the > same phone number, these flip phones do not require a SIM card to work. >

The phone that was activated was a PayLo phone, butAssurance Wireless can activate a BYOD phone.
PayLo phones are supported and compatible with ASW accounts. Good to know you have finally activated a new phone on your account.
