iphone 8: oops we don't recognize this device

I am trying to switch my service from my broken iphone 8 to my new iphone 8 but when I enter the MEID/IMEI I get an error message that this device is not recognized. I have had Virgin Mobile for the past 8 years and this is a new phone provided by the Virgin/Brightstar insurnance plan so I don't understand the problem. I can't call the customer support number given because I don't have service on my working phone and my phone w service is broken lmao. I'm hoping someone can help me with activation over PM? Thanks
