If the phone is currently on any Sprint carrier, that is the result one would expect.
The only case that would not apply is One Step porting to multicarrier MVNOs which Virgin Mobile is not.
It's currently enrolled in a Virgin Mobile plan so that could be interpreted to be a Sprint carrier I suppose but I think you missed the irony.
