Buy iPhone SE from Apple unlocked

If I buy iPhone SE unlocked from apple, possible to use Virgin Mobile sim for innercircle?  If so, will the phone remain unlocked if I remove the Virgin Mobile sim and travel or decide to later use another sim in USA?

Re: Buy iPhone SE from Apple unlocked

Band 41 provides very good LTE speeds on MVNOs on the Sprint network.

So if you want optimum performance on Sprint that is a consideration.  When the SE first came out Apple explicitly marketed the Sprint model as the only version for use on Sprint.  Of courese the sim free also works fine and most users of the sim free (which is more flexible than the Sprint version) are very happy with LTE speeds on Sprint.

Re: Buy iPhone SE from Apple unlocked

If you buy the sim free version (the "unlocked" version ) of any iPhone from the Apple Store it comes with mulit-mode unlock activation policy and can be used freely anywhere on any carrier.

If you buy a carrier-branded (Sprint for instance) it becomes locked to that carrier's network on activation and you must obtain an unlock to use it elsewhere.

Virgin Mobile's policy for unlocking devices is 14 days after starting services which means that any carrier-branded phone that is activated for the first time on Virgin Mobile will only be unlocked after the 14 day return period for the Apple Store is over.

There is one consideration to bear in mind with the SE and that is if Band 41 is very important for a given purpose then the Sprint model is the one that is needed.  However, it comes with the tradeoff mentioned above.

Hey there, @ganesh. You can purchase the phone for the Inner circle in the Apple store and can unlock it after 14 days if you decide not to stay with Virgin Mobile.

Thanks, question is can an "unlocked apple purchased iphone se" be used with virgin innercircle then unlocked for travel then used again virgn upon returning, then unlocked again for travel, etc.  In other words, will the Virgin Sim kit lock the previously "unlocked" phone if it is used longer than 14 days on Virgin Innercircle.
