How do I troubleshoot activation on a Certified Pre-Loved iPhone?

I'm at the very early stages of activating my pre-loved iPhone which I brought over from a previous plan.

 

I put my IMEI number in and the ICCID, then my email address, but when it asks for my Virgin PIN or my date of birth, it doesn't recognise my response.

 

Is there a way around this at all?
